Lecture on Drug Administration Law: identify and prevent risks

On 18^th October 2019, the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry invited Mr. Vincent Zhu, Senior Partner and Head of the Pharmaceuticals and Healthcare team of A&Z Law Firm, to attend the Shanghai Pharmaceutical Conference. Mr. Zhu gave a lecture on the recent Drug Administration Law and compliance problems regarding drug promotion.

A deep assessment of drug management in compliance with the current regulations and the legislative process was carried out. The aim was to look at the legal implementation level and provide useful recommendations to the companies attending the seminar. Besides, Mr. Zhu tackled potential compliance risks that foreign companies may face providing preventive measures to avoid those risks by looking at case studies.

In China, pharmaceuticals and healthcare sector attracts considerable attention. On the one hand, with continuous development of the economy and society, the scale of the healthcare industry has seen a steady increase. On the other hand, with life and health considerations, the pharmaceutical industry remains subject to the Chinese government’s strict supervision in aspects such as market entry, production quality and operation activities. Meanwhile, legal issues of typical Chinese characteristics in this industry such as the regulatory environment concerning drugs and cosmetics industry constantly evolving are also critical issues with which the pharmaceuticals and healthcare companies in China are inevitably faced.
