Webinar – Doing Business in China: A 2021 Perspective on Legal and Tax Issues

On January 27, Ms. Anna Lukina, Director of Business Development and Marketing at the European-American Desk of A&Z Law Firm, participated in the webinar 'Doing Business in China: A 2021 Perspective on Legal and Tax Issues'.

Together with tax expert, Mr. Marant Caballero Gómez, Senior Advisor at CW CPA, they discussed topics related to income tax, salary reductions, labor contracts, as well as international payments and fraud, as well as examined case studies, to help companies dealing with an array of issues that will be especially relevant in 2021.

2020 was an unprecedented year worldwide, and companies are still adjusting to the new-normal. Now more than ever, international businesses operating in China need to show adaptability in facing challenges. COVID-19 has made a large number of companies face business difficulties or even a survival crisis.

Although some companies have weathered the economic downturn for the time being, they have also realized that the impact of the epidemic on the economy will be long lasting, and that they need to preserve their financial strength to improve their ability to resist risks.

In the light of this, Ms. Lukina’s presentation focused on these three essential topics: the current economic situation in China, labor issues for businesses, and some key points on international transactions and fraud.
